Tooth Extractions

Gentle, pain-free extractions when a tooth can no longer be saved.

Are you in an extreme amount of pain? Maybe you’ve already discussed options for saving your tooth with your dentist and simply can’t afford it. Perhaps you’re just not interested in keeping the tooth. If so, Dr. Hammoud can extract it for you. The tooth extraction procedure involves numbing the area to lessen any discomfort. After the extraction, we will advise you of what post extraction regimen to follow. In most cases a small amount of bleeding is normal. For the first few days, if you must rinse, rinse your mouth gently afterward. For pain or swelling, apply a cold cloth or an ice bag. You can brush and floss the other teeth as usual. But don’t clean the teeth next to the tooth socket. If your tooth is extracted, we offer a variety of options to replace the tooth and improve the function and appearance of your smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does tooth extraction hurt?+

You'll be completely numb for the procedure. You may feel pressure but not pain. IV sedation is available for anxious patients.

What happens after an extraction?+

We'll give you detailed aftercare instructions. Most patients heal within 1–2 weeks. We'll also discuss replacement options — leaving the space open can cause neighboring teeth to shift.
